Customs & Culture
 | | In Lower Bavaria tradition is still important … In the Rott and Inn Valley celebrating is a part of life. All through the year you can find varying occasions to celebrate, whether it has roots in the local customs or is comparatively new.
That way the popular customs of the past are not forgotten - and the folklore, customs, costumes and dances remain a part of everyday life.

An exact list of our traditional festivals would break the tradition.
Countless markets, some of which have origins in the Middle Ages, are also worth a visit, with their large range of art and hand-made articles!
Here is a small taster of the festivals and markets in the area:
- Carnival procession through Bad Birnbach
- Traditional spring market, Bad Birnbach (1st Sunday after Easter)
- Maypole festival on the 1st May
- Bad Birnbach Corpus Christi procession
- Bad Birnbach harvest festival in September
- Autumn market in Bad Birnbach (1st Sunday in October)
- Bad Birnbach Twelve Days (Friday before the 1st Sunday of Advent)
- Christmas market in Bad Birnbach (1st Advent Sunday)
We love it when our guests celebrate with us. Have a look at our events calendar, and ask at reception if you would like more information!
